Richard was born in 1946 in Hampstead, London. Now working as creative director of an advertising agency in Essex, his main interests are surrealist painting, dada poetry, photography, stereoscopy, classic cars, collecting models of fifties and sixties vehicles, constructing and furnishing a twelfth scale Georgian style house, and intellectual subversion. Married to Jane Wells, an abstract artist, beadworker and teacher, they have two daughters. Richard's interest in painting was inevitable, as nearly everyone in his family painted or drew, his late mother having created an unpublished book of children's poems which can be seen on this website.
